What did I learn? A LOT! Before this class, I was somewhat apprehensive about joining all the media sites. After being forced to :) - I have over come this feeling. I feel more comfortable using these sites. I have learned some tricks on Facebook. I will no longer use tinyurl to shorten web address, since this class has taught me about bit.ly. I like bit.ly better because it keeps statistics about how much a link has been used. I have learned that Twitter is not totally a waste. It can be used for fun and to get a message out. I like how HootSuite is a one stop shop for Twitter and Facebook - thanks for teaching me about that!
What did you wish you had learned? This training has met my expectations
What will you take back with you and used soon? Twitter - and let others now that it is a useful application. I want to also use Flickr - however my organization will let me! I will definately be using HootSuite. I will be using bit.ly from now on. I will also be checking the websites you gave us on keeping up with new technologies.
Was this class format effective? Yes. I like that there were only two students and we each got personal attention. I liked having my own computer so I got hands on experience of using these new web sites.
How could it have been more effective? I don't know.
What can I do differently? Overall impression - I thought it was great. I had a good time and I learned a lot. I am leaving with more confidence about getting out on the web and socializing! Thanks Tammy!

Feedback 1
Below is a brief review of some of the new services I have tried this week -
Flickr - I like it. It is easy to use. I like that you can make things private, so only certain people can see it. It's also easy to follow other people or organizations to see the lastest pictures they are posting.
Facebook - I like it. It is fairly easy to use. It is a good way to keep up with friends and find and connect with old friends.
Twitter - I like it. This is another way to keep up with friends. I also like keeping up with people who have smart, funny and/or pithy sayings.
Blogger - I like it, but not sure that I will continue to use it. This one is the most time consuming of all. It takes more time and thought to do blog posts.
HootSuite - I like it. It's a huge time saver, because it lets you post to twitter and Facebook at the same time. I highly recommend this one to those who have multiple social media sites.

Ahh, the simple life...
I just read, "Finding the Simple Life," a blog post by the Librarian in Black. I also liked the blog post that she points to - "The Zen Mind: How to Declutter." How appropriate in this age of information overload.
As a librarian, I should be a master at organization. However, this does not apply to certain aspects of my life. Can any other librarians out there relate? I like how the Zen Mind post gives simple baby steps to help sort out the clutter. I feel like this is something I can accomplish and gives me hope.
Admitting the problem is the first step to recovery. Whew - I feel a weight has been lifted. I am ready to go home now and sweep out the crap in my life!
